Cairo, Dahab - Egypt
$3,290 pp
This adventure is best suited to enthusiastic runners of any age who love exploring new places. With all runs being optional on the day this is a great adventure for casual Weekend Warriors and more serious runners alike
Adventure at sunset across the Pyramid Complex following a day of exploring the Giza Plateau and the oldest Wonders of the Ancient World.
Enjoy moonlight runs along ancient Bedouin trails with the Red Sea’s warm Blue Lagoon lapping meters away. Relish sunrise trails around the Blue Hole interspersed with planned open water swims and free time to snorkel, dive and windsurf.

Activities include guided Yoga and relaxation at sundown followed by a well earned full body massage on the banks of the Blue Lagoon after an exhilarating day of trail running through the famous Coloured Canyon.
This adventure allows time to explore Dahab, a small Egyptian town on the southeast coast of the Sinai Peninsula, formerly a Bedouin fishing village and considered one of Egypt’s most treasured diving destinations.
Egypt is located on the northeast corner of Africa, with the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the East. An ancient home to almost 100 million people and the 14th most populated country in the world. With the longest documented history of any country, Egypt traces its heritage along the Nile Delta back to the 6th - 4th millennia BCE. Considered one of the six cradles of civilisation, Ancient Egypt is famous for iconic monuments such as the Giza Necropolis and its Great Sphinx.
Country
Cairo is the capital of Egypt and its largest city, home to 10 million people. Associated with ancient Egypt, the Giza pyramid complex and the ancient cities of Memphis and Heliopolis are located within its geographical area. Modern times have seen the cities of Sharm el Sheik and Dahab positioned as prime dive and water sport destinations due the prevailing warm climate, rich biodiversity of sea-life and pristine coastal waters. Linking these cities are old Bedouin camel tracks historically used to ferry people and wares between villages along the coastline. These tracks remain open but not well known and a haven for intrepid adventurers to trail run.
Cities
Egypt has an unusually hot, sunny and dry climate. Average high temperatures are high in the north but very to extremely high in the rest of the country during summer. At this time of year temperatures average mid-20’C with a fair level of humidity. While most of Egypt’s rainfall is in the Winter months, South of Cairo - the Red Sea area - averages only 2-5mm per year (sometimes at intervals of many years!). With waters warm enough not to need a wetsuit be sure to pack your swim suit, goggles and snorkelling gear too as there will be plenty of time for water sports in-between the trail adventures!

With trails to stretch your legs on, some runs will be flat desert running, while others mildly technical in the mountains along the Red Sea coastline. Expect some sunset and night running under the magnificent desert skies.
We have training plans to help ensure you’re comfortable with the distances: this is not a race, it’s an experience to be savoured in an incredible environment.
Adventurers can expect supported swims in the calm warm waters of the Red Sea’s famous Blue Lagoon - all optional with crew on boats or boards should you need a rest.
The goal is enjoyable exploration - none of the runs and swims are timed, and there is free time carved out for snorkelling, diving the famous Blue Hole, wind surfing or chilling on the beach!
